Studying abroad can very easily be a college student’s biggest dream. But for indecisive students (like myself), compiling a packing list can be stressful. As someone who loves trying new skincare, makeup, clothing items, and accessories frequently, I see studying abroad as an opportunity to incorporate new items into my wardrobe despite limiting myself to a small suitcase from home. Here’s my list of essentials to make this task a little less daunting for others planning to travel this summer!

Dr. Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment

This cream is legitimately magical. My favorite part is that it applies as a beige color but as you rub it in, it transforms to match your skin tone and reduce redness. This is perfect for both chilly days and for when you’re a little too sunkissed. It even doubles as a sunscreen to protect your skin and give you that hydrating layer of protection.

Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey

You’ve heard on TikTok that this lip color looks good on everyone, and I can confirm it’s true. I gifted it to my friends (and myself) this Christmas and no matter what your skin tone is, this smooth formula not only feels effortless but looks beautifully seamless. Since I’ve tried it, it’s become my staple for a night out or a nice dinner. It’s definitely the most versatile lip option for someone experimenting with a makeup routine! If you aren’t sure about the color, it also comes in a pink option for a more daytime or summery look.

Altar’d State Stella Linen Skort

I know what you’re thinking – skorts are not cool. This one will change your mind; it’s super flattering on a variety of body types and the material is perfect for exploring outside in the summer. It’s a great comfortable-but-cute option for anyone who wants to opt for a skirt with more coverage. In case you aren’t sold, it’s asymmetrical in the front which gives it a stylish edge and sets it apart from your typical basic bottoms.

Kate Spade Passport Holder

This can be such a cute addition to your travel accessories while helping you stay organized during a hectic trip. They come in so many fun designs (mine has Perdita from 101 Dalmatians on it) and have enough pockets to store your most important documents, passport, currency, etc.

Beis The Weekender Bag

This infamous bag really does stand up to the hype when it comes to travel. It fits as a personal item or carry-on for most airlines and has enough compartments to cram in all the items you just can’t part with for a month. Not to mention it has a slick design that allows it to be stylish and convenient while carrying it with your other luggage. It’s a bit pricey but can be the perfect sustainable option to reuse for trips to come!

I hope some of these items will provide you with a little comfort from home while also allowing you to save room for those souvenirs you simply can’t ignore. I’m excited to put them to the test this summer, so happy traveling!
