Charging the World Horns First; Nneoma Ajiwe

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Texas chapter.

Name: Nneoma Ajiwe

Major: Human Development and Family Sciences, Pre-Med

Year: Sophomore

Balancing a ton of extracurricular activities and making good grades in college is a challenge. Heck, making good grades in college is a challenge in itself. You have to be determined, motivated and still find time for a social life. As a Longhorn, we hold a reputation of being the start of change in the world. There’s no wonder that students here strive to be the best.

What makes Ajiwe our Campus Celebrity this week is the fact that her schedule is booked with different types of extracurricular activities that are inside and outside of her declared major.

Having a passion for caring for children, Ajiwe decided to major in Human Development and Family Sciences. “They have a branch geared toward early childhood and it will let me specialize in care for them,” Ajiwe said. She plans to do clubs close to her major as well as ASA, African Student Association.

Outside of the medical field, Ajiwe has a passion for many other things; specifically things that will fulfill her creativity outlet. She has joined Longhorn Life as a photographer and has also started her own photography portfolio known as ‘Forever Young Photography,’ where she specializes in headshots. She dresses, shoots and occasionally does the make-up for her models.

Ajiwe also has a passion for dancing and singing. “I’m a dancer and I love to dance so I’m hoping to make the dance team here, if not, I’ll be involved with other dance teams and/or take classes.”

Favorite thing about being a Longhorn:

“The immense amount of school spirit at this school is my favorite thing about being a Longhorn,” Ajiwe said. “The fact that when I say I’m from UT, people automatically know what school it is. We’re world-renowned!”
