Band Jam: Rocking for a Cause

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Texas chapter.

Texas Spirits is holding their 17th annual philanthropic event, Band Jam, on November 29 from 8 p.m.-midnight at the Blind Pig Pub. Four bands will be featured and tickets can be purchased for $10 online.

All proceeds from the event go to the Make-a-Wish Foundation and the St. Louise House. The first philanthropy grants wishes to hospitalized and terminally ill children, while the second provides housing to homeless women and children. This year, Spirit’s goal is to raise $25,0000, enough to provide at least two  wishes in addition to housing for homeless women and children.
Sophomore Shelly Miller and new member of Texas Spirits urges everyone to come out.

“People should expect a fun time and a chance to experience the Austin music scene,” Miller said. “Come out and have a good time while doing good for our community that we know and love.”
