5 New Hairstyles to Try for Spring

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Texas chapter.

Even though it has been chilly and cloudy in the past few weeks, it is finally springtime weather here in Austin! If you’re like us, you are in the post-spring break slump of the semester. We have found that one of the best remedies for this is to take a break from writing your papers and studying for your midterms and spend a little extra time on yourself. A fun and simple way to do this (we can’t keep going to Lush and blowing our paychecks on bath bombs!) is to change up your normal hairstyle for the new season. Here are four of our favorite ways to mix it up!

Including a Ribbon in your Braid

This adds a fun pop of color without having to change your hair at all!

All About the Waves

During the colder months, we were all about the flat iron. But in this warmer weather we don’t need the extra heat! Try going natural, or if you have straight hair put your semi-wet hair in a bun and let dry, when you take it down you’ll have pretty waves.

Flower Power

If you want to try something bold for a special occasion this season, there are lots of ways to incorporate flowers into your hair style without looking too costume-y. Try adding them to a headband or wrap or even braid them into your hair!

Accessories are your Friends

There are so many types of hair accessories. If headbands aren’t your thing, there is always clips, pins, crowns, even artfully placed bobby pins!

Go for the Cut

It’s spring! The unofficial starting fresh season. Why not?
