I wanted to start a spark, ignite the night.

But the moon was so bright it pulled me away into another life.

The stars danced around playing with my long hair.

Dancing in the wind as we descended back to earth.

Every step down the path the world spoke to me.

The wind, the waves, the birds all sang their own lullaby

But the moons song was by far my favorite.

It made my heart take flight, dancing out of my chest and into the night.

I loved the day as well, don’t get me wrong, but I was a lover of the night.

The possibilities of the dark the shadows that played around in my head.

What the new day would bring.

My imagination sored.

They played the hymns just right to keep me alive.

I would wait for the night, waiting to live once again.

The crisp calming air, so fresh and clean.

The peace the night would bring, the world seems to stand still.

Everyone snuggled tight in bed

Made the perfect playground for my head.

But my reality was far greater.

The night sung just for me.

Because unlike you I was a lover of the night

It whispered its sweet songs.
