Enjoying my Senior Year Despite Post-Grad Anxiety

I’m sure every senior is slightly terrified of whatever is to come after college. Whether you already have something lined up or not, I’ve come to terms with the fact that it’s okay to not fully know. It makes me think of when I was a senior in high school, so frightened of the unknown, which turned out to be even better than I expected.

Moving forward, I want to go back to that feeling I had as a freshman where everything was fresh and new to me. I’ve made a short bucket list (which I advise every senior to do) of things I want to accomplish. This way I can make the most of my last year of college and be able to reflect back on these moments in the future.

Front of Football Games

I have never sat in the front at football games, partially because I was never on time, but I want to at least sit there once. I will also be going to every football game to really soak in every moment at TCU.

More Time in the Commons

The last time I took time to sit in the commons with my friends was freshman year. Time is constantly moving, so I never really got a chance to sit down and have a breather after that. Nonetheless, I want to spend more time in the commons and really everywhere on campus.

Friendship Hangouts

This one is simple. I want to make more memories with my friends and cherish the time we have together now before we go off and start new, busy lives.

Visit One New Place in Fort Worth

I haven’t really gotten the chance to explore Fort Worth, other than going to the Stockyards with my friends and a few places to eat with my family. I want to change that, especially since this is my college town and I want to have memories to look back on in the future.

Self-Care

While I do want to have fun and say yes to more things, I believe it’s still okay to want to protect my peace. That could look like staying in and watching a movie/reading or simply having a night to myself.

Overall, I’m looking forward to this semester and my last year of college as a whole. I know my future is bright, and by trusting in the plan God has for me, I’m going to be okay, and so are you!
