COLLEGE STATION, Dec 2nd, 2022 – This past Saturday, November 26th, Texas A&M’s football team closed out their season with a win against Louisiana State University (LSU). Aggie Football won 38-23 against the LSU Tigers, who were ranked No. 6 at the time of the game. Texas A&M was unranked, causing this to be an upset that ended in A&M fans rushing Kyle Field.

The Aggies finished the season with a 5-7 record with a 2-6 conference record. In order to be eligible for a bowl game, the Aggies would’ve needed 6 wins, so unfortunately for the 12th Man, there will not be another game to cheer on until next season.

Head Coach Jimbo Fisher expressed his pride in the team during the post-game press conference: “Happy for our seniors and our players. They’ve overcome a lot, tough situations. They keep fighting and doing the things they had to do. Very proud of them. Very proud for our fans that we got to have a great game here. Very proud for these seniors to go out their last game ever in Kyle Field in a big win and a big situation.”

Some highlights for this game include a new season-high yards rushed (274 yards), a 27 yard fumble return by Demani Richardson in the 3rd quarter, and a 21 yard one-handed catch made by Moose Muhammad III to score in the 4th quarter.

It is a well-known fact that this season has been disappointing to a lot of A&M’s fans. Fisher states that this season was about “learning how to win, learning how to stay mature, learning how to focus for the whole time and learning there’s not a secret to this.”

As an Aggie myself, I’m excited to see this young team grow throughout the off-season and come back stronger for the 2023 season.
