Top 10 Flowers for Autumn That Belong in Your Garden

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Susqu chapter.

I’m not much of a gardener myself but I do enjoy smelling the roses. One of my many aesthetics is flowers. I even have a flower tattoo, so reading about flowers interests me. Mostly because I live in the city and the only thing that grows there is weeds.

There are lots of different flowers in lots of different environments. So for today, I shall list the top 10 flowers for Autumn that will make your garden pop. If you don’t have a garden, like me, then just use your imagination.

1. Orpine “Purple Emperor”

2. Sneezeweed “Sahin’s Early Flowerer”

3. Aster “Little Carlow”

4. Michaelmas Daisy

5. Sunflower “Lemon Queen”

6. Coneflower “Goldstrum”

7. Hardy Garden Verbena

8. Chinese Plumbago

9. Red-Hot Poker “Tawny King”

10. Oriental Fountain Grass

Now if flowers don’t catch your fancy, I suggest checking out a pumpkin patch because nothing says “Autumn” like a bunch of pumpkins. I know what you’re thinking, “It’s barely even October! Why would I get a pumpkin?” But I’d like to think of it as, “wake me up when September ends.”

I'm an art lover with lots of advice to share. I also think I'm pretty funny.
