Everyone is talking about #BeyChella, aka Beyonce’s (incredible) performance at Coachella last weekend. But, I want to acknowledge one of my favorite bands, HAIM (pronounced “HAI-MH”), who happened to perform just before Beyonce at Coachella. It’s a shame that most of the crowd probably tuned them out because they were waiting for Beyonce instead. But I am here to tell you a little about HAIM and why they’re worth a listen!

As some background: Danielle, Alana, and Este Haim are three sisters who together make up the band HAIM. I’ve been listening to them since 2013 when I read about them in a magazine and have been obsessed ever since! Hopefully after reading this article you will be obsessed with them, too.

First of all, their style is always on point. Totally retro vibes.

Second, their personalities are so fun and quirky. They are super goofy and aren’t afraid to show it.

Third, they’re woke. Take it from this Instagram post from when they went to a march against gun violence.

If this isn’t enough to convince you of their awesomeness, let me share with you a few songs to get you listening:

Want You Back

Forever

The Wire

Nothing’s Wrong

Days are Gone

I also have to include my personal favorite of theirs: their cover of Shania Twain’s “That Don’t Impress Me Much”.

All in all, HAIM is super rad band that you should totally start listening to. They may not be Beyonce, but they are pretty darn popular in the world of indie music.
