It is no secret that the lifestyle led by a college student is a stressful one. With school assignments, work, relationships, and what seems like endless responsibilities all on your plate at once, it is merely impossible to not feel the weight of stress. However, stress doesn’t have to take over your life. Use these tips and tricks to relieve even the toughest of stressors.

Take A Walk

Stepping outside and taking a breath of fresh air is perfect for taking your mind off whatever has you stressing. Take a walk around campus or somewhere quiet off campus where you can clear your mind and rid yourself of negative or stressful thoughts.

Go to the Gym

There’s nothing like a good, vigorous workout to let all the stress roll of your back. Going to the gym is a great choice if the stress is triggering anger. Working out allows you to let off steam that’s been boiling up and recharge yourself towards a calm, positive mindset.

Write in a Journal

If physical activity is not your forte, there are ways to relieve stress that don’t involve getting up.  If you don’t want to talk about what has you stressed, try writing in a journal! Putting pen to paper is a safe, creative outlet where you can let all your feelings and emotions out with the power of words.

Listen to Music

Grab some headphones, crank the volume up, and blast your favorite songs on repeat. Listening to music is a great way to tune out the world and all that’s stressing you out. Make a playlist special for stress-related days and get lost in the music.

Take a Nap

There is no easier way to block out the world than by taking a good nap. Whether it be a quick 20-minute cat nap or a three-hour snooze fest, sleeping will help you regain your energy to fight your stress. Sure, your problems will still be there when you wake up, but it doesn’t hurt to catch some Z’s and forget for a little while.

Get Organized

It definitely is not the easiest of tasks, but managing your time wisely can prevent your stress from occurring or help diminish it. Stay focused & get organized!
