Big Air Ski & Snowboard Tour Comes to Fenway

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Suffolk chapter.

This winter, Fenway Park will be hosting a big air snowboarding and freeskiing U.S. Grand Prix tour event. Skiers and snowboarders from around the world including men and women Olympic and World title winners will compete for $150,000 on February 11th and 12th on a 140 foot snow ramp mid field. This X-Games like completion right in the heart of Boston is a huge deal for New Englanders, especially having it at our historic ball park.

USSA Chief Marketing Officer Michael Jaquet stated, “Big Air at Fenway will be one of the largest events in the 20-year history of the U.S. Grand Prix. It will draw some of the most talented athletes in big air, including a brilliant group of Olympians and Olympic hopefuls. It will be a great show for spectators at Fenway Park and watching at home.”

Superstar freeskiers and snowboarders from around the world will be there, including names like Joss Christensen, Gus Kenworthy, Nick Goepper, Devin Logan, Ty Walker and Eric Willet.
