YouTubers Are Doing Their Makeup With What?!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Stony Brook chapter.

As if doing makeup the normal way isn’t hard enough (I still can’t figure out how to contour my nose), makeup artists have been shocking us with the most unusual tutorials. I don’t know if it’s because they’re bored of showcasing their usual skills or if they’ve gone off the deep end, but new challenges in the makeup realm keep popping up and they’re getting weirder and weirder. Here’s a list of some full-face makeup looks using only one kind of product to check out whether you’re looking for a challenge yourself or if you just want to be entertained by how weird makeup can get!

1. Liquid Lipstick

This one seems like it would be a sticky nightmare. Nikkie even mentions that this look was difficult to do, especially because the lipstick dries really quickly. The tutorial is hilarious by itself, so adding Nikkie’s humor makes it even better! Don’t try this at home if unblended makeup gives you heart palpitations.

2. Highlighter

Jenna Marbles isn’t a makeup guru but she gets the idea across while making us laugh! This look is definitely easier than the liquid lipstick challenge and girl, you can glow up to infinity.

3. Art Supplies

Good thing this stuff is non-toxic! Tiffany actually does her homework on color theory to appeal to all you art majors out there and gets super creative with how she makes this look work using items like chalk, glue and glitter!

4. Food

Natalie says in the video, “Maybe nobody will do this with me.” Turns out everybody is doing this with her! You can sneak a snack while you’re rubbing cocoa powder all over your face. The best thing about this look: your face will smell delicious!

5. Nail Polish

What kind of crazy lady would slather her face with nail polish?! Breland would, even though she has a mini-freak out sesh before she starts. What’s fun without some danger involved?

All of these looks have one thing in common: they’re freaking hilarious. The weird and the artsy combine for these quirky makeup challenges that aren’t only for makeup artists! If you’re bold enough (or bored enough), give ‘em a try. If you come up with your own makeup challenge, you might inspire the next big craze on YouTube!
