Why Game Nights are the Best

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Stony Brook chapter.

Do you ever miss the board games and shenanigans you used to play as a child? Spending Friday nights playing Pictionary, Sorry!, Candyland, Jenga etc. Nowadays, people forget how fun game nights can be. Game nights are the perfect way to switch it up instead of going to the movies or the mall. Text your closest friends, get your favorite snacks (Pita chips!), and get to gaming!

Games nights are perfect for bonding with your friends whether you invite your coworkers, teammates, colleagues, or your best friends. It’s a chance to really let your guard down because it’s okay to embarrass yourself. You learn a little bit about each person in every game. Game nights let you see how people think, what their true sense of humor is, and how they interact with others.

There’s no better night than a game night to let loose, relax, and laugh. Games are simple, inexpensive, and purely fun! It’s so easy to get lost in a game and lose track of time. Some of my favorites are Speak Out, HedBanz, Jenga, Twister, Cards Against Humanity, and Loaded Questions. Game nights are so important because they give us all a chance to put down our phones, and enjoy quality time with quality people! Always remember to have fun and enjoy the little things in life.
