SBU’s Moment of Magic

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Stony Brook chapter.

And a bibbidi bobbidi boo!

The clock has rung its midnight toll on Stony Brook’s a Moment of Magic’s very first event, The Grimm Tale Masquerade.

Though they didn’t have any magical mice or fairy godmothers, we would like to give a very special shout out to the performers and all of those who volunteered for the ferocious festivities. Not only was it a big success for the club as a whole, but it was also an important step in helping fundraise to support children in nearby hospitals and communities. Eventually, with trained volunteers, members of the club will be able to visit these children dressed as their favorite characters and create moments of magic.

With it being their first year, they are hoping to create the groundwork with local businesses, students, and hospitals to create a local character chapter for Suffolk County. By creating this safe space, members will be empowered to become leaders of service.

Below are just a few snapshots taken by the fairest of them all, our very own Her Campus member Dyondra Wilson!
