How will you be enjoying your next vacation? Suntanning in Cancun? Backpacking through Europe? Your next vacation doesn’t have to involve delayed flights or lost luggage. You’ll have everything you could ever need from the comfort of your own home. You guessed it: a Staycation! Staycations are the perfect way to unwind and have fun, without emptying your wallet. Here’s an ideal agenda for achieving the perfect staycation!

Movie Night Monday:

Spend your first day of relaxation watching all the movies you are dying to see (or re-see). Wonder Woman? Black Panther? Pitch Perfect? You name it. Grab some popcorn, your favorite movie snacks, and your comfiest sweatpants. Enjoy a night in without any obligations or responsibilities.

Tanning Tuesday:

Head to the nearest beach, or lounge by the pool. Catch up on some reading. Bring your music, sunscreen and beach towel. Watch the sunset with friends. Invite all of your friends to a barbeque and cook up some burgers. Roast some s’mores by the fire for a perfect end to the day.

What’s Cooking Wednesday:

Cakes, cookies, creme brulee galore! Who needs a diet on a staycation? Absolutely no one. Now’s the time to attempt your favorite recipes you’ve been saving on Pinterest. Invite your friends and family over to bake and decorate. After dinner, enjoy all of the delicious treats you made. A perfect way to end an already sweet day!

Traveling Thursday:

Plan a day for adventure. Explore the great outdoors!  Go hiking, and kayaking. Spend the day breathing in fresh air, and appreciating nature. Have a picnic with fresh fruit and sandwiches.

Paint Night Friday:

Girl’s Night! Gather up your besties and release your inner Frida Kahlo. Step-by-step paint nites are great for everyone. No painting experience required! They are super fun, super artsy, and make the perfect room decoration! Paint nites are entertaining, yet relaxing. You can enjoy guided painting while adding your own creative spin on your artwork!

New York City Saturday:

Head to the city that never sleeps! What better way to spend a Saturday than exploring the infamous city on the east coast? With just a train ride away from campus, you can visit hundreds of hotspots. To name a few: Central Park, The Museum of Modern Art, Chelsea Market, the High Line, Little Italy, the Empire State building etc. Well, you get the point! You can’t forget Forever 21 with four floors either! Talk about shop ‘till you drop! The city is flooded with plenty of fun things to do. Just be prepared for busy streets and a ton of walking!

Spa Day Sunday:

Unwind for the last day of your vacation. Spend the day making homemade face masks, doing your nails, practicing yoga, and taking a long bath with that bath bomb you’ve been waiting to use. Everyone deserves pampering. Treat yourself!

Whether you are miles away from home or snuggled up in your cozy bed, the point of vacation is to relax and to forget all of your worries. Sometimes it’s more fun to plan mini trips each day and be spontaneous. A staycation can be anything you want it to be. Just have fun while doing it!
