Can you tell us a little about your music?
Music is like air to me and is something I will take seriously when I finally finish my Masters classes. I enjoy every type of music and always try to incorporate different styles into songs, but so far the songs I have recorded usually never get past my Itunes. The styles I have been recording lately range from heavier rock songs like Brand New and The Receiving End Of Sirens to acoustic songs similar to Damien Rice and John Mayer. It really depends on what mood I’m in when I go into the studio. But once I’ve established a few songs I am proud to release, I will play more live shows across Long Island and hopefully in the city. If I could make a living out of it, I would drop everything and go into the music indudstry.

We heard you studied abroad in France; how was that experience?
Studying abroad in France was one of the greatest things I have ever done. Being outside the country, submerged in a completely different culture was exhilarating in itself. We stayed in the city of Montpellier, which is an incredible place with some of the best food, wine, and entertainment I have ever had. No cars drive on its streets so it was a lot of walking (stumbling more nights than not) from one end of the city to the other with random people. I was also there during FIFA World Cup, and that alone was incredible. People in Europe place soccer next to a religion; it’s crazier than if you mixed the Super Bowl, World Series, and every other major sporting event the United States has to offer together. The best parts of France for me were the people I met on the trip, the food from southern France, Paris, and the excursions. Oh, and the French women.

What do you like best about working for Stony Brook’s Athletics Department?
My favorite part of working at the Athletics Department is getting to watch all the basketball/lacrosse/football games. The staff I work with is awesome, too. It is a lot of work, but it is also a lot of fun getting to talk with players, coaches, and their families. The teams at Stony Brook have been doing really well the past few seasons, and we are really making a name for the university, so it’s great to be a part of Stony Brook’s rise.

What do you look for in a girl?
There are a lot of things I look for in a girl, but I like girls who are outgoing, honest, and fun. I go for the kind of girl who likes to go on stage and sing karaoke with her friends on a Thursday night, can play an instrument or two, likes to go to shows in the city, maybe likes to read books that aren’t required for class, etc. I look for a girl whom I can relax with when there is nothing else to do, and whom I can see myself being good friends with regardless of what happens. Blue eyes are my kryptonite though.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
I played double bass in a symphony orchestra for a decent amount of time and during that time I joined a jazz band and absolutely loved it. For whatever reason, playing jazz comes as naturally to me as breathing so a life goal of mine is to own a decent double bass, get a group of musicians/friends together, and play in jazz clubs throughout New York City.
