Holy Grail Jojoba Oil Products for Hair Loss or Thinning Hair

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Stony Brook chapter.

Stress plays a factor in one’s life, in fact, it can be a huge factor depending on what is going on in their life. When stress hits me it usually hits my hair first, yeah, my hair. It starts to fall out a bit and then begins to thin. It sucks and places even more stress. However, with a little bit of research and some positivity, I finally found some products that worked for me. Please do know that you should try to combat stress. Exercise, paint, read, do yoga, draw; find something that works for you. You need to try to push away the stress so that these products can work to the fullest.

(Disclaimer: always test a small patch of skin to see if you have allergies and speak to your doctor before trying anything just to be sure!)

I found both of these gems at Marshalls for around 6-8 bucks! Also, I know no one likes a greasy scalp, but it’s worth adding healthy oils to your hair instead of stripping them away!

Jojoba Oil

According to Bhagyalekshmi from Good Health Academy, Jojoba oil is excellent for hair loss as is moisturizes the hair follicles which makes them stronger and healthier. I put on 3-4 drops and massage it along the roots and some sparse areas, then leave it in for 20 minutes and rinse it out. The bottle that I have claimed that it also contains powerful antioxidants vitamin A, D & E. According to a guest blogger on Smarty Pants Vitamin, vitamin A is what is used to help produce healthy sebum which helps your hair from breaking off when it’s all dry. Zohra Ashpari and Kathryn Watson from Medical News Today claim that a 2012 study suggests that vitamin D can help create new follicles. They also claim that vitamin E contains tocotrienols which contribute to a healthier scalp. Definitely check out the website to see the studies and get more information, but of course, consult your doctor about any vitamins you may notice on these products as well!

Jojoba Shampoo & Conditioner

Along with having the oil, I also use a jojoba shampoo from JASON. (I used up my shampoo so I’m showing you the conditioner instead. That just shows how much it helped me!) I personally don’t use the oil every day, I feel like it would be too much on my hair. Thankfully this shampoo and conditioner feel very light on the hair and gives the same benefits! Also, both the shampoo and conditioner do not have parabens, sulfates, any of those nasty chemicals that other products have. My mom actually told me that none of the chemicals help hair at all and can strip away the good stuff your scalp contains. She switched to more natural products instead or at least products that exclude harsh chemicals. You go, mom!

I wish you luck on your hair journey! It’s not the end of the world, hair will grow back, it just takes time and patience. Stay positive and have some hope! I hope these products will help you as well. If anything there are multiple other alternatives and natural products that just may work for you! You just gotta try and see. Everything will be okay, and try to reduce as much stress as you can.
