Chris Evans fans have something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving with his return to Instagram. At the end of June 2023, the Gray Man and Captain America actor announced he was taking a break from social media. He had announced it by sharing a post by Taron Egerton regarding a break from social media, in his stories on Instagram with the caption “Count me in. Gonna take a little break. Much love everyone 💙” On X, formally known as Twitter, he had also tweeted about his leave of absence: “Hey everyone, I’m treating myself to a summer with less screen time so I’m taking a little break from Twitter, and IG. See you soon! Much love! 💙” Shortly thereafter, both accounts were deactivated.

At around midnight on Thanksgiving, Evans returned to Instagram with a video previously released by Jinx, a dog company Evans reportedly invested heavily in. Evans and his dog Dodger have also been a spokesman for the company on various ads as well as having their own curated box at Walmart. The video shows Evans’ trip to Animal Haven, a dog shelter in NYC, along with the following caption: “Hi everyone! I’m back :) I’m thankful for a LOT of things this year, but dogs are always high on the list. So glad to hear that these dogs got adopted and that we were able to set them up with a year’s worth of @thinkjinx food and treats. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!” Thousands of fans welcomed him back in the comments with the post gaining over 450k likes in only a few hours.

Evans heavily cleaned up his Instagram, which included deleting many posts. At the time of publishing, Evans only had 38 posts and, following 2 accounts, Jinx and A Starting Point (ASP). ASP is co-founded by Evans and is a political website whose only agenda is to inform people of the issues without any political affiliation or influence.

The remaining posts are mostly related to the movies he’s filmed, as well as ones including Dodger. He also deleted an Instagram highlight that featured his skills on the piano ranging from contemporary classical music to The Artist Formally Known as Prince’s Purple Rain. The only highlights that remain are those related to ASP, and a highlight titled ‘wisdom’ that only features a graduation speech of late actor/friend Chadwick Bosman.

Evans has recently been seen on big and small screens, with Netflix’s Pain Hustlers, a pharmaceutical industry drama as Pete Brenner, where producer Lawrence Grey complemented the actor, “I think Chris is this incredible salesman. […], And so this guy who can be a bit of a chameleon in his way and connect to people through that, as well as Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, an animated series based on the cult classic Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World (2010). He reprised his role as raspy-voiced Lucas Lee, Ramona’s Ex, a skateboarder turned actor. The Netflix series is more of a what-if than anything else. It dives deeper into the world of Ramona as well as The League of Evil Exes. The series also includes the original cast, including Michael Cera, Evan’s Endgame co-star Bri Larson, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona.

At the time of publishing, Evans hasn’t re-activated his X account, and it is unclear if Evans will return to X.
