Most of the populous of this world find it compelling to watch mystery/crime movies and shows. Whether it be to give ourselves a daily dose of scare in regards to the treacherous possibilities of being killed by our closest of friends, to watch closely the workings of renowned fictional and non-fictional serial killers only to have them outwitted at last, or to explore the depths of our own rancorous plottings when it involves feelings such as betrayal and power and, the list goes on. Whatever the reason may be, it’s there and we have and will continue to watch such movies/series. Here are a few shows that have the attention of the viewers gripped, surely you’d fancy a view since you’re here.

Gotham: A Dark Knight
Jim Gordon is a rising detective who works alongside Detective Harvey Bullock in attempting to bring Gotham back to a state of tranquility while encountering obstacles every which way. Bruce Wayne, friend to Gordon, is orphaned in the crime-filled city of Gotham at a young age and forms a strong sense of justice by taking matters into his own hands as The Batman. The series is a breath-taking journey as they attempt to navigate through politics, murder, and crime to get to the bottom of the imminent corruption.
Power
Pouring success and wealth, James “Ghost” Patrick is living the life of luxury as the owner of the hottest new nightclub known as Truth. However, like every story, his life has an inevitable twist just the same as he leads a double life with mounting secrets. His nightclub is not only is the way of mending a future with his family but his ticket out of his past life’s entanglement in the drug empire.
Tui, a 12-year old girl who is also five months pregnant disappears without any trace and an inexperienced detective, Robin Griffin, is to lead the investigation on making sure that Tui is found alive. Griffin faces pressures not only due to her inexperience but from characters such as Tui’s father, Matt, who is a drug lord and GJ, a guru at a local women’s camp. The search soon boils into something more than just about finding Tui.
Line of Duty
During a counter-terrorist encounter, Steve Arnott is mistaken to have caused the death of a man and therefore is transferred to the police anti-corruption unit. While working alongside top detectives, Arnott starts to stir trouble as he begins to unveil criminality and corruption both within and beyond the organization itself.
Elementary
An Adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes series, Holmes flees rehab and relocates to NYC only to find that he is assigned by his father to live with a sober companion namely, Dr. Joan Watson. A former surgeon who gave up medicine after the loss of a patient, Dr. Watson is an immediate match with Holmes and they start consulting for the NYC police’s most harrowing cases.

The Punisher
Frank Castle lost both his wife and children and sets out to exact revenge, only to realize that the conspiracy engulfs more than just New York’s criminal underworld. Running a military corporation, Billy Russo, a friend of Castle’s who now assists him on his quest for the truth.
Sherlock
The story being a contemporary adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s detective series, Benedict Cumberbatch does one of the best portrayals yet of the fictional character, Sherlock Holmes in the Netflix series, Sherlock. The show focuses on Holmes, a Private consulting detective, solving some of the most distressing crimes both at local and international scales with the help of his companion Dr. John Watson.
How to Get Away With Murder
Truth surfaces as professor of defense law and defense attorney, Annalise Keating handpicks some of her brightest students to assist with the cases at her firm. The class on How to Get Away With Murder soon becomes a practical in every sense.
Dexter
A jaguar hunting snakes; a predator hunting another predator. Dexter Morgan is the blood spatter analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department who helps them in solving tough homicide cases. With his knowledge and access to the justice system, he also spends the other half of his time as a serial killer who specializes in taking down other killers who have yet to be caught and/convicted.
White Collar
When you specialize in committing crimes, your level of precision aligns with that of others in your caliber. Neal Caffrey is a prisoner who has been eluding the FBI for years, who once captured, offers an unmatched proposal in return for freedom. He offers to help aid the FBI in catching some of the most sought-after criminals through his wit, connections, and expertise.

Luther
Idris Elba plays the role of a detective who enters a grueling psychological battle with a gruesome killer. Emotional, impulsive and brilliant, he keeps his friends close and his enemies even closer.
Broadchurch
Chaos ensues in the small community of Dorset when the bloodied corpse of an 11-year-old Danny Latimer is found alongside a beach. Attention is drawn to the connections with the townspeople as a suspect promises to expose further secrets.
Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries
Set in in the 1920s in Melbourne, detective Phryne Fisher vows to keep the man (Murdoch) responsible for her younger sister’s disappearance behind bars while she continues to stand up to injustice for people who can’t help themselves.
The Killing
While Sarah Linden is pragmatic through and through, Stephen Holder’s practices are undisciplined. As case partners, they have to find a way to balance their differences and work effectively with each other and the Seattle Police Department to bring the unresolved murder mysteries to an end.
The Fall
A case of when a hunter becomes the hunted, Paul Spector is a sexual predator and serial killer on a crime spree who is being chased by detective Stella Gibson from the London Metropolitan Police. While those around Spector are unaware as he leads a double life and increases his murder counts, Gibson keeps her task force focused on pinning him down to justice.
