I attended the Trump Rally at Grumman Studios in Bethpage, New York on April 6th and here are the best quotes I heard by Trump supporters:
1. “Kick them in the teeth!” said a group of Trump supporters about liberal protesters.
2. “Build the wall!” chanted an entire group.
3. “That I’m unsure of but I have faith in him, one hundred percent” said one woman when asked where Trump would get the money to build a wall.
4. “Go back to Mexico!” yelled a man at a younger girl who looked to be of Hispanic ethnicity.
5. “Why don’t you go back to Afghanistan,” said another man to a man with a hint of an olive skin tone.
6. “You’re on welfare!” chanted a group of Trump supporters to the anti-trump folks.
7. “I have to say it, I do believe in building a wall,” stated a Trump supporter.
8. “The infrastructure in this country is overwhelmed, cities are bankrupt, ER’s are overcrowded,” stated two men when asked how they feel about his immigration policies.
9. “Bernie sucks” chanted Trump supporters to anti-Trump supporters (not Bernie supporters).
10. “Our Asian and European allies have to pick up the slack,” said a Trump supporter when asked where Trump is getting the money to build a wall.
11. “That’s absolutely wrong because I’m a physician, an MD” when asked if the economy would collapse if illegal immigrants got deported.
12. “Uh, uh, uh…uh…uh…uh, uh, uh…” said so many folks when asked any question.
13. “I think he’s going to cut and consolidate some of the federal bureaucracy” said another supporter. (Trump has actually called for the one of the most massive expansions of the bureaucracy in history.)
14. “I think we can. As a business man, you know, he can but what are we willing to do?” said a supporter about making Mexico pay for the wall.
15. “I deregistered from the Republican party because of their inability to beat Obama last time.”
16. “Maybe it is time for a change” said a Trump supporter. (Bernie Sanders’ campaign slogan is ‘A political revolution is coming.’)
17. “Mexico’s gonna pay for the wall!” chanted Trump supporters.
18. “I don’t think the wall’s ever gonna be built. I also think that Mexican people know how to dig,” remarked a Trump supporter.
19. “A good leader knows that he has to surround himself with people smarter than he is,” said a pro-Trump man.
20. “Political correctness is all being blown out of proportion” said a supporter.
My conclusion is that I spoke to a variety of random supporters. They claim that the news media is blowing everything out of proportion in the whole situation. I can guarantee that is false. These people are as hateful, racist, and ignorant the media portrays them to be. As a cis-gender white woman, I felt unsafe around his supporters. Almost every single one of his supporters at the rally was a white male (that is not an exaggeration). I grew up here. I lived my entire life down the road from this rally. I had my first job here. I danced for 13 years here. I felt unsafe, and Americans should too.
