5 Ways to Power Up Your Mornings

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Stony Brook chapter.

Not a morning person? Often find yourself tucked into bed, all comfortable, your inner voice is telling you have class, yet you can’t pry yourself up and out off your seductive bed. Don’t worry, there is a solution. Here 5 essential tips that can help you face the morning dread.

1. A morning run will spike up your adrenaline and instantly wake you up and keep you alert. It’s like magic without the tricks.

2. Think Starbucks. One cup of rich coffee goodness and you will be up and ready to face the day. It’s the strong aroma that you will have you opting out of energy drinks.

3. Don’t’ skip out on a feta egg cheese wrap or the monster sized pancakes. Breakfast is one the important meals in the day. If you think that cliff or granola bar will you keep you full for the whole hour and 40 minutes of lecture, think again. Try going for a meal that supplies you with the energy you need for the full length of the class.

4. Applying makeup can help wake you up. Think about all the steps throughout the process of putting on your make up. Moving your hands and fingers allows you to focus entirely on the details on your face and wake up your brain.

5. Dress comfortably when going to an early classs. You can still make a fashion statement without wearing your flashy pumps. Put aside your fancy shoes and slip into a pair of your awesome converse. With a pair of comfortable sneaks, you can move productively to your destinations.

Those are three things that truly contribute to my life I love my family more than I love chocolate and music combined. Music is dominant factor that has shaped me in many ways growing up I've always been exposed to music and the arts. It has affected my attitude everday and made me a happier person. There is not a time where I need music, I call music my safe haven it keeps on my toes and sane when things get tough.
