There are times when you look in the mirror and not like what you see. Sometimes, we all tend to have those bad days and feel overly self-conscious about our hair feeling a bit more wavy than usual, our skin looking less clear. Other times, no outfits seem to fit our body type. It can be really hard to accept the way we look. Here are some tips on how to feel confident living in your own body.

1. Embrace your own beauty.

All thighs are good thighs. All stomachs are good stomachs. All bodies are good bodies. 2. Take a break from social media.

Sometimes we feel overwhelmed looking at the profiles of others on Instagram or Facebook. Profiles show only what they want you to see. Remember that likes do not determine your self-worth.

3. Surround yourself with caring and positive people!

Whether it is a close friend, family member or professional, talk to them about your concerns with no hesitation. Let them know that you feel insecure about your image so you are not going through it alone.

4. Exercise to not only look good but feel good. All college students who feel stressed out with any aspect of their lives has access to the campus recreation center. Going to the gym boosts your self-esteem and leads to positive thoughts. Give it a try to release your frustration on a daily basis.

5. Take care of yourself.

Join a club or do something that you really enjoy doing. Channel your negative energy into motivation to do good. As a human being, if you focus your thoughts on something purposeful and interesting, you will stop wasting your time focusing on your outside appearance and will find it easier to love yourself. It is important to take care of yourself. The best thing you can do is not overwhelm yourself and live a healthy and prosperous life.
