Which Malt-O-Meal Cereal Are You?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St Olaf chapter.

St. Olaf College is notorious for its cereal. Here on the Hill, we do not eat Fruity Pebbles or Rice Crispies. Our Caf is stocked, instead, with a brand of cereal called Malt-O-Meal. Oles keep Malt-O-Meal near and dear to their hearts. The aroma of cereal wafting over the Hill is what inspires Oles early each morning. When Stav has a shortage of the favorite Malt-O-Meal cereals, there are complaints, outrages. Oles get into deep conversations of why Apple Zings are better than Cinnamon Toasters. But there is something Oles don’t know about their daily (or sometimes more than daily) consumption of this cherished meal. The choice between one Malt-O-Meal Cereal and another indicates character traits. That’s right, girls. Your preferred choice of Malt-O-Meal cereal can reveal your personality.

Original Malt-O-Meal

This girl is a classic girl. Moreover, this Original cereal eater is a high quality woman with elegance and class. She can be seen around campus with a timeless red lip and a basic ballet flat. She may be simple, but just like this hot cereal she will warm your heart. This young woman is not afraid to be a Grace Kelly amongst a crowd of Kim Kardashians.

Chocolate Marshmallow Mateys

If someone is a Marshmallow Mateys lover, she is not afraid to have chocolate and marshmallows for breakfast. This is a girl who is not threatened by indulgence. She’s the type to choose Netflix over homework because it is more gratifying. Moreover, Ms. Marshmallow Mateys is generous and sympathetic. Like chocolate, she is warm, inviting, and a comfort when someone is down.

Oat Blenders with Honey and Almonds

This girl is wise beyond her years. Her intellect is considered to be one of her best qualities. This pragmatic girl is always composed and her life is on track. Around campus, you can see an Oat Blenders fan in an argyle sweater reading a Jane Austen novel.

Frosted Mini Spooners

This girl is as sweet as the frost on her Mini Spooners. If she was a Hogwarts House, she would be Hufflepuff. This girl is enthusiastic, a life lover. She is the person everyone talks to when they are having a bad day. She will always cheer you up with a smile and a warm hug.

Fruity Dyno-Bites

This girl is in touch with her inner child. She is not afraid to wear Scooby Doo pajamas while walking into her 8am at 8:20. This girl has spunk–she grabs everyone attention with her spontaneous and flashy personality.

Kailey is from Crystal Lake, IL. She is a first year at St. Olaf College and loves When Harry Met Sally, the color yellow, and chocolate.
