Sto-Style: Inspired by St. Olaf

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St Olaf chapter.

Every day I am amazed by how beautiful St. Olaf’s campus is. I feel incredibly lucky to go to such an amazing school that’s easy on the eyes! So this week, I’m going to show you how to dress to emulate parts of our beautiful campus – Thorson Hall, Old Main, and the natural lands. After writing this post, it only seemed appropriate!

Thorson Hall

Jeans: $158 – allsaints.com Sweater: $77 – quiksilver.com Bracelet: $24 – baublebar.com Shoes: $40 – ae.com Earrings: $15 – charmandchain.co, Watch: $50 – topshop.com

Thorson Hall is one of my favorite buildings on campus (and not just because I’ve lived there two years in a row!). I just love its grandeur and beauty. In my opinion its one of the most majestic buildings on campus.

Take inspiration from Thorson and grab a sweater in an oatmeal hue to mimic the building’s stonework. Throw on your favorite pair of blue jeans and add rose gold accessories, which reflect the building’s copper details. Simple!

Old Main

Jacket: $40 – tillys.com Cardigan: $40 – tillys.com Top: $35 – quiksilver.com Jeans: $35 – hollisterco.com Flats: $50 – modcloth.com Bag: $130 – topshop.com Bracelet: $40 – bloomingdales.com Earrings: $9.99 – modcloth.com

If Thorson Hall is the prettiest building, Old Main has to be the most iconic. Built in 1877, Old Main was the first and originally the only building at St. Olaf. The hill would not be complete without this old gem!

To emulate Old Main, play up the orange and navy blue color scheme of the building with blue jeans, a navy cardigan, and a dark orange top. Add brown elements to tone down the color scheme, like a leather jacket, a satchel, and a bracelet. Finish with flats and a cute pair of earrings!

The Natural Lands

Hat: $32 – piperlime.gap.com Sunglasses: $24 – warehouse.co.uk Dress: $45 – ustrendy.com Necklace: $34 – asos.com Bag: $8 – clothingattesco.c Wedges: $169 – zappos.com

The natural lands are a great place to take a walk, run or go exploring. It’s a peaceful respite from the craziness of college life that I love to escape to when I need a break.

To dress like the natural lands, pick out pieces from your wardrobe that remind you of nature like earthy tones and floral prints. Even though there’s still snow on the ground, I could not resist putting together an outfit that screams spring. Don’t forget your sunglasses!

Be inspired the beauty around you and stay fashionable, St. Olaf!
