Chick-Fil-A in NYC!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St. John's chapter.

As many of you may know, a Chick-Fil-A opened on 37th and 6th in Manhattan on October 3rd. As many non-first year students may know, there were many rumors floating around last year that the Dunkin on campus would be replaced with NYC’s first Chick-Fil-A. However, no such luck.

Now, I don’t know about you, but when I’m at school I miss my waffle fries. I don’t go to Chick-Fil-A very often at home, but absence merely makes the heart grow fonder. Their chicken sandwich (minus the pickles, of course- sorry, Snooki) is to die for.

If you are a vegetarian, I’m very sorry, because Chick-Fil-A does not have very many options for you. When you look at their menu, there is an abundance of chicken: chicken nuggets, chicken sandwiches, chicken salad, chicken wraps, chicken in salad… I mean, they are called “CHICK-Fil-A.” You can get a milkshake, fries, and a fruit parfait, though!

And I know that a lot of people, especially many college students, aren’t a big fan of Chick-Fil-A because of their stance on gay marriage. They are considered a very “Christian” organization: closed on Sundays, publicly against gay marriage, and denying people service because they are seen as homosexual. I put Christian in quotes because I am Christian, and beliefs such as these give Christians a bad name. I apologize for the brief religion lesson, but Christ preached love- not hate.

Recently, Chick-Fil-A has been helping with LGBT fundraisers, and been generally doing a lot better at improving their tolerance. Opening a store in New York City was actually a part of their movement to open stores in some of the liberal cities in the US!

Okay, liberal rant over. The point of this is, we now have an amazing Chick-Fil-A in NYC, and we should go because it’s fantastic. My fellow HCXO writers have gone, and I’ve included their mouth-watering pictures below. “Eat more Chikin” and Enjoy!
