5 Female Influencers You Should Be Following

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St. John's chapter.

As I’ve grown over the years, what I have consumed in social media has played a key part in shaping my character. Overall, this impact has been positive because the majority of those who I view are authentic, ambitious, and passionate about what they do. All of these are characteristics I love to mirror/take on. Taylor Giavasis has a captivating nature, Nazanin keeps it real, Kaila Kake has her stuff together, Aaliyah Jay is striving for greatness, and Daisy Marquez is simply relatable. Whether social media is your go-to when you’re bored, you need someone to relate to, you need a little motivation, or you need a pick me up, you should be following the women below.

Taylor Giavasis

I love learning new things from people, and thinking about things I know in a different light. If you follow Taylor on Instagram, @g1avasis, you’ll be exposed to the same. I think a goal of hers is to push back on negative stereotypes surrounding body image, body positivity and normalcy, breast feeding, and other things women have or will likely experience that are often spoken about in not the most positive ways. Following her has allowed me to grow as a person. In addition to instagram, Taylor has a joint youtube account with her fiance Nash. I have no other way to describe it but as an instant serotonin boost when I view their videos. They are comforting, aesthetically pleasing, and simply happy. If you’re looking for a safe space and transparency you should be following Taylor Giavasis.

Nazanin Kavari

Nazanin Kavari, @nazaninkavari, is one of the most consistent content creators I follow. In middle school I’d watch her channel for hours. Nazanin motivates me and has taught me how to be confident. She stresses doing what makes you happy as well as the idea that being comfortable with yourself is the most essential thing. She is blunt but has the kindest heart and is the best mom to her son. She has achieved such great things at a young age and motivates me to do the same.

Aaliyah Jay

Aaliyah Jay is most well known for her presence on YouTube. I have been following her for 7 years. She has been a role model to me and it has been rewarding to watch her grow into the successful woman she is today. Aaliyah is her own boss. If you are into vacations, makeup, and unique and original fashion, check Aaliyah out.

Kaila Kake

Who I want to be in the years to come plays a major part in who I follow. Kaila Kake lives up to the “that girl” phrase. I began watching Kaila on youtube a short time ago. Her videos instantly motivate me to get up and to be productive on my laziest of days. If you are fond of vlogs, health or beauty videos, or into fashion, tune into Kaila’s Channel.

Daisy Marquez

I’ve been watching Daisy Marquez on youtube since I was 13. She loves her followers and is passionate about her craft, but my favorite thing about Daisy’s content is that she doesn’t shy away from her truth. She is authentic and has been open about things she struggles with from mental health to relationships. I find that since we are so close in age, a lot of what she shares is relatable. When she speaks, it’s like having a conversation with a close friend. Daisy’s energy is infectious and I recommend you check her channel out.

I admire each of these women. In a strange way I feel like we’ve all grown together. You won’t regret watching their videos and following them on all their platforms.
