What to Do if You’re Stuck in Columbia for Fall Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at South Carolina chapter.

Fall break is fast approaching, USC! With that in mind, here are a few suggestions of things to do if you are staying in Columbia.

Go to a pumpkin patch:

There are plenty of pumpkin patches right around the Columbia area, including Fox Farms in Lexington. It is a short drive from campus, and would ensure a lot of fun for you and your friends (plus cute Insta pics)!

Go apple picking:

Along the same lines of going to a pumpkin patch, go pick apples! They are in season and can help you get inspired in the kitchen with a multitude of fall recipes (I love to make homemade apple cider). There are several places near Columbia where you can pick apples, including Double-A Farms

Take a tour of Columbia’s historic homes:

Columbia is filled with historic homes, including its famed Robert Mills House. The tours give insight into the lives of Carolinians centuries ago. It is quite interesting to think about the former Columbia and realize the progress we have made over the years. Also, the architecture is simply beautiful!

Stay in:

It is important to de-stress after weeks of working! Take time for yourself! Stay in, read, run a hot bath, do whatever you need to do to feel relaxed, autumnal and happy!
