If you’re anything like me, both my skin and I absolutely dread winter. With cold weather comes dry and flaky skin, as indoor heating strips our faces of every last drop of moisture. I’ve found that lathering my skin with thick moisturizers is, most definitely, not the solution. Over the last few months, I have tested tons of skincare in preparation for winter and have finally found a regimen to combat these issues:

  • Glossier After Baume: I will admit that I was bit hesitant to try this recovery cream as I’m not a fan of overly thick moisturizers. Well, boy, was I wrong. This product is, hands down, the most buttery face product that I have ever applied. Being prone to dry skin and rosacea, the After Baume has been one of the few things that has helped combat such issues. It was even awarded the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance. You can truly never go wrong with Glossier’s plant-based ingredients and 100% recyclable packing.
    • Paula’s Choice Liquid Exfoliant: In the past, I’ve found that my skin feels completely stripped of any moisture, especially when I use it in the winter. This 2% BHA exfoliant is strong and mighty, yet surprisingly gentle on the skin. It has completely evened my skin tone and minimized my pores, absorbing into my skin within seconds after application. It also contains green tea to soothe skin while providing anti-aging benefits and salicylic acid to clear skin. This has been a TikTok-crazed product and truly does live up to its hype.
      • Youth to the People Kale + Green Tea Face Cleanser: I’ve gotten into the habit of washing my face every morning and am kicking myself for not starting this routine sooner. Not only does it wake me up, but has helped clear my skin immensely — especially since I’ve started using this cleanser. It contains cold-pressed antioxidants to balance your skin’s PH and prevent pore buildup, and can even be used to remove makeup (which is always a plus). This leaves my skin tingling in the best possible way and sets my face up with a clean canvas to take on the day. Youth to the People never contains parabens, phthalates, sulfates, dimethicone, or mineral oil, which your skin will thank you for later.
      • Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops: Yes, I’m sure that you’ve seen this product before as it’s been all the rage these past few months. I am here to tell you that this is, 110%, worth the purchase. I will admit, I am an avid self-tan user during the winter months. I had yet to find a face tanner that hasn’t clogged my pores or left my skin uneven until this. Not only do these bronzing drops leave you with the perfect tan every time, they contain omega-rich virgin marula and black currant seed oils, along with fatty acids (vitamin F), supporting the healthy barrier function that all of our skin needs. Boosting our skin’s defense, it protects from everyday pollution (which I didn’t even know was possible!) that can cause aging and acne.

Whether you try one or all of these products, I can assure that you will not be disappointed. Our skin needs the most help during winter, and these will give you a range of benefits that our skin craves.
