Cassidy Bunting joined us at a recent Her Campus South Carolina meeting to fill us in on a new program on our campus, ExpressU. She gave us an inside look at Express merchandise and showed us fun ways to incorporate their looks into our wardrobe. She even had awesome giveaways for our members! We were still dying to learn more about ExpressU, so we sat down with her to get some more info!
Her Campus South Carolina: What is ExpressU?
Cassidy Bunting: ExpressU is a program that gives students experience in brand marketing and event coordination, all while encompassing a passion for fashion. It is aimed to market the Express Brand on college campuses, in hopes of reaching a demographic who may not know what awesome merchandise that Express has to offer.
HCSC: What kind of events does ExpressU hold?
CB: Each semester, my team and I will hold three big events. Our first event was centered around “Back to School”. Our next event focused on Gameday in Carolina, where students were able to decorate a gameday shirt, play some games, and receive tons of free merchandise. We have one more event coming up this semester that we will hold in late October, so be on the lookout!
HCSC: What do you do for them?
CB: As an ambassador, I am responsible for promoting the brand around campus, coordinating events, and utilizing the power of social media to show students what kind of merchandise Express carries. On top of our large events, we are responsible for using our creative side to create social content that embodies the Express Brand. I will also be doing some small giveaways later in the year around campus as well.
HCSC: How did you get involved?
CB: The one thing I can say is, USC has some amazing opportunities and connections. I learned about the program through my HRSM Internship Coordinator. She lets students in my major know about opportunities that correlate with our potential career paths, and once I heard about ExpressU, I knew I wanted to apply.
HCSC: How can other students on our campus get involved?
CB: If you follow me on Instagram (@c_bunting), I post anytime we have events coming up. Everyone who comes has an amazing time and ends up leaving with some awesome free stuff. Also, if there are any students who want to expand their portfolios in photography or cosmetology, please reach out because we could always use some expertise (with some free merchandise perks for any helpers!) Because my position is a yearlong commitment, applications for next year won’t be available for a while, but I really encourage anyone who is interested to reach out to me so I can get you connected with someone for next year!
