Welcome back to school!

Whether it’s your first semester or your fifth, Her Campus SMU welcomes you back into the 214. We’ve compiled a list of on and off campus events in the SMU/Dallas area. From concerts, to movie nights, to museum programs, there is something during September for everyone.

First Week of September (09/02 – 09/08)

Be sure not to miss:

Friday’s SMU vs. TCU Boulevard and Football Game

Fall is here, and that means football season has arrived! SMU’s first home game against rival TCU is one you won’t want to miss! Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m., boulevarding is from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., and remember to wear white.

Second Week of September (09/09 – 09/15)

Be sure not to miss:

Tuesday’s Hegi All Major Career Fair 

Whether you’re in advertising, history, engineering or business, there is something for you at this fair. This is a great opportunity to network and open yourself up to internships, so be sure to make it and bring your resume! (Pro tip: attend Hegi’s Resume Session Friday (09/07) at 1:00 p.m. for any last-minute fixes)

Tuesday’s Beyonce, DJ Khaled, and Jay-Z Concert

Who runs the world? Girls! There is no denying it: Beyonce is QUEEN. What could make seeing her better? Seeing both of The Carters. AT&T Stadium. 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $50.00 plus fees. 

Wednesday’s Cookie Dough with A-Chi-O

To all my potential rushees: Go to these kinds of things!! This is the best opportunity to learn about sororities and determine which one you think you’d feel at home with, whether it’s as a DG or a Kappa! The event starts at 5:00 p.m. at the flagpole.

Third Week of September (09/16 – 09/22)

Be sure not to miss: 

Monday’s Chi-O Cool Off

Come and get to know the Chi O’s of SMU – who they are and some of the ways they are different from the other sororities on campus. Rushees, GO.

Saturday’s SMU vs. Navy Boulevard and Football Game

Saturday boulevards are the best – ask anyone. Brunch dates and boulevarding take up your entire Saturday, so be sure to plan ahead! Kickoff is still TBD.

Fourth Week of September (09/23 – 09/29)

Be sure not to miss: 

Sunday’s Rae Sremmurd and Childish Gambino Concert

Catch me only listening to Childish Gambino for a week to learn his new album! Tickets start at $50.00 plus fees and the event starts at 8:00 p.m. at the American Airlines Center.

Wednesday & Thursday’s Drake and Migos Concert

What’s better than one concert? Two. Drake and Migos take on the American Airlines center at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday and 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tickets start at $75.00 plus fees.

Saturday’s Family Weekend Boulevard and Football Game

The only thing that can make family weekend more fun is a boulevard and a football game. Be sure to hit the Student Foundation Boulevard BBQ tent at 3:30 p.m., and kickoff against Houston Baptist is at 6:00 p.m.
