Fall, in my opinion, is the best season of the year. The weather begins to feel nice and the leaves start falling off the trees and changing colors. I can finally enjoy a walk where I am not constantly slowed by the hot weather and a change of scenery with the new season. Here are some tips to make the best of your autumn this year.

The first thing that is a personal fall must is to enjoy a seasonal drink at Shaw’s Coffee, which is near The Hill in St. Louis. This coffee shop always does a great job coming out with amazing seasonal drinks that are very high quality. This is the perfect study spot because the interior scenery has the perfect vibes to get yourself to focus on assignments. The interior has dim lighting which can help you feel calm, and their decorations are very relaxed with beautiful plants all over the shop. Additionally, this is a perfect spot to bring your friends and try their coffee flights. These are three of their seasonal coffees, nicely decorated and served on a platter labeled with their names. This cute assortment is phenomenal for taking pictures to post on social media.

Another coffee place you can never go wrong with is Starbucks. Starbucks’ fall menu is one of the things I look forward to every single year. This menu has really great options such as the Pumpkin Chai or their Iced Pumpkin Cream Shaken Espresso. From their seasonal bakery items, the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin is always a favorite.

Visiting a pumpkin patch is always a fun thing to do when you have free time or if you need an escape from your busy life. Pumpkin patches almost always consist of family friendly and fun activities such as mazes or games. This is also the perfect setting for putting on your favorite sweater and uggs, taking pictures and posting them on social media. Pumpkin patches typically have a little farmer’s market which is an awesome way to get some fresh fruits, homemade spreads and caramel apples!

Eckert’s Farm in Beliville, Illinois is a great pumpkin patch for those nearby St. Louis. You and your loved ones can visit this huge farm to pick pumpkins and apples, both of which are perfect for pies. They also provide fun activities like a bonfire.

Lastly, fall season is the perfect time to work on yourself and try something new. I always find baking to be a fun and creative thing to do during this season. There are many recipes online such as a copy-cat version of the pumpkin cream cheese muffins from Starbucks, or a homemade apple pie. I like to pair baking with watching comforting shows like “Gilmore Girls” or Netflix’ new reality tv show about Alix Earle, “Earle Meets World”.

Other fall activities I enjoy are fun crafts like crocheting a scarf or bedazzling jeans and going thrifting to make some unique pieces for your closet.

Overall, fall is the perfect season for many reasons, and you can do so many things to romanticize it. Going to pumpkin patches with loved ones, wearing comfortable outfits like sweaters and UGG boots and trying seasonal items like coffee and warm pastries are just a few suggestions to get you started in your fall adventures!

Hi! I am an undergraduate student at Saint Louis University, and I'm majoring in Psychology and minoring in Criminal Justice. I am a local in Saint Louis which I have been here for my whole life. Some interest that I have is that I love to go on outdoor walks when the weather is beautiful, trying/learning new things, reading, baking, and hanging out with friends and family!
