The Feelings Before a New Beginning: A Poem

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SLU chapter.

A new beginning starts tomorrow

At first feelings of nervousness will begin to envelop you

You wonder if everything will be okay

And imagine everything that could go wrong

Then you snap yourself out of that daze and remind yourself

This could also be the start of something amazing.

You begin to feel excitement bubble up in your stomach with just a hint of remaining anxiousness

Thoughts about all the good things that can come out of this flutter around in your mind.

A sort of buzz takes over making you jitter about your room.

Hurriedly planning and preparing anything you might need.

This is a chance to continue doing your best

Or the opportunity to change yourself and become the person you want to be.

You both worry and look forward to the change.

You go to sleep way too late and toss and turn with all the possibilities running sprints in your head.

A feeling of hope bursts in your head and heart like a radiating glow

A finally sleep begins to take over and you fall asleep dreaming about your new future.

This new beginning starts now
