I won’t say that the bad won’t happen

And I can’t say that everything will get better.

But what I can promise you–

Come morning light,

The flowers will be beautiful,

The air will seem softer,

Kinship will flicker brighter–

Come morning light,

Not everything will be perfect,

But enough of the “good” will outlast the “bad”

Beyond the arbitrary categories

A laugh will outweigh your scars,

A smile will outlast your anxieties,

The beauty will linger longer

When it all comes down

We remember the good with the bad,

The laughter and the scars.
