Best Friends Edition: Megan Bang ’19 and Lizzie Benkart ‘19
Her Campus: What is your go-to fashion accessory?
Megan: My black leather ankle boots! They go with everything and are super comfortable.
Lizzie: My denim shirt. It’s something I can throw on on top of any outfit to dress it down and go for a more casual look.
Her Campus: Who are your style icons?
Megan: I find that I draw the most inspiration from the people around me rather than stars. I think the fashion industry is moving more towards getting trends from what young people are wearing more than the other way around these days.
Lizzie: I definitely agree with Megan that I don’t really pay attention to celebrities that much, but take inspiration from friends or people I see just walking around.
Her Campus: Where do you typically shop?
Megan: Topshop, Zara, and designer consignment.
Lizzie: I like small boutiques, consignment stores, American Apparel, and Zara.
Her Campus: How has attending Skidmore influenced your personal style?
Megan: I think it has just made me feel comfortable with expressing myself since there are a lot of people who dress up and then there are also people who don’t. It is a place where anything seems to go which is awesome.
Lizzie: It definitely lets me feel comfortable wearing whatever I feel like. I feel like I fit in whether I leave my dorm in jeans and a sweatshirt or heels and a dress.
