No partner on Halloween or fall? No problem. Here are five acts of self-care that you can do for Halloween and/or fall under $20!

  1. Build Your Own Boo Basket

Don’t wait for someone to gift you a holiday basket; head to Dollar Tree, grab a cute bag or basket, and snatch your favorite candy and snacks.  It’s that time of the year when the weather becomes brisk and germs are spreading, and all you might want to do is stay inside. So, if you need a pick-me-up, you can find medicine, hair accessories, handbag lotions, soaps, shampoos, loofahs, arts and crafts, and more to make your basket full.

  1. Wake Up from Your Coffin & Revive that Dead Skin

What’s better than treating your skin to some TLC? Cold weather making you become one with the couch or your bed? Get up and take a warm shower. With Fall air stripping away your skin’s natural moisture, use your favorite body scrub to exfoliate your dead skin. When you get out of the shower, it may be cold, so your first instinct might be to rapidly get dressed, but try your best to lock in moisture while your pores are still open with your favorite lotion before dressing. I can bet once you’re in your cozy and comfy loungewear, you won’t want to moisturize after.

  1. Go for a Fashion Strut

Feed your inner child and take a stroll in your neighborhood or around campus to show off your costume and spread the Halloween spirit. If you’re that person who doesn’t wear costumes anymore, you can always dress in your favorite fall fashion. The sidewalk is your runway!

  1. Don’t Let the Bed Bugs Bite & Watch a Scary Movie (or a Throwback Movie if You’re a Scaredy Cat!)

Watch a scary movie alone or with friends and snag those snacks from your Boo Basket that you made earlier. Look at you having a whole date with yourself for yourself.

  1. Listen to a Halloween Playlist (or Don’t & Do a Music Detox)

Get into the mood for Halloween or fall and clean, organize, or do any of your hobbies. On the flip side, you can also completely take a break from music and just embrace the silence as a way to recenter yourself and allow your thoughts to flow. There’s constant noise in our lives: homework, studying, work, socializing, music, our beliefs and others, the pressure we put on ourselves, and more; so much that we forget what it’s like to be in silence. Occasionally giving your mind that stillness can be an opportunity to observe where your thoughts go. This can act as a checkpoint in life of where you’re at and can help you to recognize (if you want to) where you want to be.

Hello! I began my own Training Startup, completed an internship as a Sports Performance Coach, and I am currently an All-Star Cheerleading Coach. I have always been a busy bee; involved Cross Country, Swimming, and all types of Cheerleading under the Sun; thus, it was only fitting to be majoring in Kinesiology! I enjoy connecting with people and recently discovered my hidden appreciation for Bachata dancing! Welcome!
