While quarantine life is still in full effect, I have been finding new ways to keep myself busy and entertained. This started with discovering new hobbies and doing puzzles all day. However, once Zoom University started up again, I found another exciting way to keep myself busy. In between Zoom sessions, I am constantly snacking on something. This led to me finding 3 different snacks I’ve enjoyed making that also have me feeling energized throughout the day.
1. Yogurt Parfait
My take on a yogurt parfait might be slightly different than what you see at grocery stores. I usually start off with the Yoplait vanilla yogurt and put that into a bowl. After that, I usually throw in some strawberries or blueberries, depending on what’s in my fridge. For the last part, which is also my favorite, I put some mini chocolate chips and granola into the yogurt. This is my slightly messier version of a yogurt parfait, but it tastes just as amazing.
2. Acai Bowl
This is definitely not one that I get around to having frequently, but when I do it is one of my favorites! I like to start off by making a thick smoothie base using almond milk, strawberries, and bananas. Then, once that is all blended and poured into a bowl, I throw on a bunch of different fruits I have available to me. Having this snack ensures I am getting all my fruits in for the day while creating a yummy snack.
3. Banana Chocolate Shake
This one is for when I am in a sweet tooth mood! As simple as it sounds, I just blend together a banana, chocolate ice cream, and some almond milk. This one is definitely a go-to when I feel tired mid-way through my classes. This healthy version of a milkshake helps you have fruit while enjoying that chocolate taste.
