Alex Gazdik ’22, HCS Social Media Coordinator

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Siena chapter.

Alex is a sophomore at Siena College, majoring in Communications Marketing with a Minor in Management. She loves Tik Tok videos, being with her family (even when they get on her nerves and she gets on theirs), and watching Below Deck. If you want to see her on campus, she work at Roots in the Massry dining hall every Wednesday, which she strongly suggests everyone should try out!

Her Campus Siena: What type of music do you like to listen to and why?

Alex Gazdik: I like a variety of music, but recently I have been loving Justin Bieber’s new album. I personally love him and Hailey together, and this album was about Justin’s growth. I also listen to a little bit of country music, which is because of my roommates.

HCS: Your mom went to Siena and your sister is graduating from Siena, how has that impacted your time thus far at college?

AG: I like having my sister at school with me, it is so nice to have someone on campus that I can talk to about anything. I also think it’s cool that my mom went to the same school as my sister and I, we’re keeping the legacy going.

HCS: What is your favorite thing about Siena?

AG: All the activities that happen on campus that you can get involved in. I am a part of an intramural basketball league and that has been so much fun. We play every Sunday and I get to do this with all my friends. I also was a part of club tennis last year and really enjoyed all my experiences that club brought me. All the basketball games that my roommate and I attend have been the best!

HCS: Tell me a few reasons why you chose your major.

AG: When I was in high school, I hated all of my classes. Freshman year I decided to take a media productions class just for fun. I ended up really liking the class, it was all about video making and editing. I ended up taking all the technology classes and that teacher told me I should go into marketing.

HCS: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

AG: I have absolutely no idea, I will be 29. Hopefully I will have a good job, doing something that I love. I don’t even know what I am going to eat for breakfast tomorrow, let alone knowing what I will be doing in 10 years.

HCS: After writing all of The Bachelor recap articles, what are your thoughts on the season?

AG: I hated this season, Peter, I thought, was a horrible bachelor. I don’t think he knew what he truly wanted and he did reward all the drama. I also hated Peter’s mom, him and Madison could still be together if it wasn’t for her. Hannah Ann was his last resort and he knew he didn’t want her, but Madison left and Hannah was his only choice.

HCS: What is the best part about HC at Siena?

AG: Everyone who is a part of Her Campus is so nice and welcoming. When I first joined the club I only knew a couple of people, and now I know basically everyone. I think this club has been so beneficial for me because I really put myself out there and tried to get out of my bubble.

HCS: Being on the E-Board, what has your favorite part been so far?

AG: Learning everything that happens behind the scenes. Before I never really knew how much it took to run a club, but running HC is a lot of work that I never knew about. It has also been fun planning events and just getting more involved in this because I love it so much.

HCS: In your opinion, why should people be getting more involved in HCS?

AG: This club is so much fun and it’s super easy. You need to write two articles a month and every week we have a meeting that usually includes free food. Who doesn’t love free food? This club is just an amazing escape from school and the real world.

Come see Alex kill it at our club meetings next semester!
