ATTENTION LADIES: STOP COMPARING!

Okay ladies, here we go. If there’s anything we can all agree on, it has to be that we are all totally guilty of comparing ourselves to each other. The world is pretty much just one long string of women who are constantly comparing themselves to other women who are also comparing themselves to other women and maybe even to the women that compared themselves to these women in the first place!

But here’s a little secret… That chick over there who seems like she’s got her whole life together – is totally freaking out about something in that pretty little head.

We all have our battles. And yes, I know we’re all totally tired of hearing this nonsense, but I promise you, its not as nonsensical as you’d think.

Lets just look at Cara Delevingne, for instance. That girl is ROCKING those eyebrows, she was an awesome Margo Roth Spiegelman in Paper Towns, AND she was Victoria’s Secret model. Um, HELLO! She totally has everything together, right?

Wrong.

In a recent interview, Cara told the world that she’s basically sprinting out the door of the modeling industry.  While we all saw her strut her stuff like she couldn’t possibly have life more figured out – behind the scenes she was totally losing herself. To her modeling was “being fake in front of the camera.”

That’s kind of a crazy thought, right? I mean plenty of us would love to be up there on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show stage showing off our dream bod like we have no care in the world… But she was doing just that, and couldn’t feel more unaccomplished.

I know we all have those things that we just can’t look past some days. We all see those ‘other girls’ who seem to be frolicking around through life without a bother, while we’re slumped over on the floor trying to figure out what’ s next.

But I promise you, when she finds herself alone in her room; she’s doing the same thing.

So let’s stop comparing and start appreciating. Appreciate yourself for picking yourself up and still managing to figure things out even when you feel like all is lost. And let’s appreciate that other girl that you’re jealous of (for two minutes) for also picking herself up and being able to get her to look like she’s got everything figured out for once too. It doesn’t need to be a competition. Stop comparing. Start appreciating.

*Virtual high-fives for all of you awesome ladies*

I'm Nicole! Nikki, Nic, anything you want to call me really. I'm from south-eastern Pennsylvania and I love life and beauty. Whenever I'm not writing or taking pictures for my blogs or social media accounts, you can find me (hopefully) at the beach surfing, traveling, making new friends and seeing new places. I'm in love with people I've never met and places I've never been to. I am currently a Senior (!!!) at Shippensburg University, majoring in Communications Journalism (focusing in Public Relations) and minoring in Psychology. I would love to work for a PR firm with advertising, event planning and perhaps a chance to travel. Thanks for reading!! - Nicole
