If you’re feeling a little gross and in need of bath then by all means, give yourself s spa day, sis! But this isn’t what this article is about. Today we’re going to talk about spiritual cleansing and why it’s so necessary.

Spiritual cleansing is a healing art that is used predominately to identify and cure the cause of any significant problems that are in your life. The result that you’d want to gain by the cleansing is to have finally removed negativity from either within you or around you.

Now keep in mind that you don’t have to get too mystic about it if you don’t want to. But if lighting candles or surrounding yourself with charmed beads or stones is your thing then, by all means, have at it. But there are much simpler ways that I believe everyone should try.

The first thing is in fact treating yourself to nice bath. But I don’t mean just your average bath. I mean the kind where you pull out allthe stops: bath bombs, bath soaps, essential oils, fruits, sugar scrubs, bubbles. I mean all of it. The goal is to soak in that bit of warmth and meditate.

Being completely in sync with your heart, body, and soul is crucial when it comes to banishing everything from heartache to anger. Since it’s finals and graduation season it’s really easy to get caught up in a wave of stressed induced negativity. Keep your thoughts positive and, while soaking, believe wholeheartedly in yourself.

Another thing to consider is protecting your energy. And I don’t mean encasing yourself within an impenetrable bubble of you own making. In other words, sis: cut people loose. Not everyone in your life should be in your life. Especially if these people aren’t good for you. People who bring you down, are constantly negative, complain, and stunt your growth instead of supporting it need to go. Protecting your heart and soul is a big part of spiritual cleansing.

To add to that, clean your room! Move things around, redecorate, get a new bed spread and curtains. Cleaning your room is like a physical version of spiritual cleaning. Visual noise like food crumbs, dirty clothes strewn all over the place, papers all over your desk, and yesterday’s mornings coffee should not be in your resting place. Cleaning your room helps ease the mind.

Spiritual cleansing can be a very helpful asset to you and should be included in your daily or nightly routines, give it a try!
