While we can agree that college can be a demanding place, what with classes, internships, and money management, it’s also an extension of freedom. There are tons of little tips and adjustments you can make to de-stress, but one suggestion that is very rarely mentioned, or even thought of is probably the most fun of all.

Fun fact! Using sex to de-stress is something researchers have proven keeps stress levels under control. So, it can actually be a useful tool to kick that anxiety to the curb; science says so!

Now, some reminders.

  • Yes, sexy times can be a wonderful reprieve from stuff you don’t want to deal with, but it shouldn’t always be your go to. This is just a nice alternative from your typical stress relievers like going for a walk, or listening to music.
  • Be safe! If you don’t have a significant other, and you end up trolling for a partner on a dating app keep in mind that STD’s are alive and well! According to American Sexual Health Association, only 12 percent of young people were actually tested for STI’s last year. So, if something seems sketchy, probably best to avoid it.
  • So, you don’t have a SO and you’re not really into the Tinder thing, so what do you do? Listen up, self-love isn’t only a phrase referring to your self-esteem. Yup, sometimes the sexy times are with yourself, which is perfectly normal! A little DIY never hurt nobody. Here’s a link to get you started, and enjoy the joy of de-stressing.
