Class Registration is Upon Us

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Seton Hall chapter.

It’s that point in the semester where for about two weeks you no longer have friends, only enemies trying to steal the last spot in your required class. It is class registration season!

Let’s be real it is one of the most stressful times of the semester – barring finals and maybe midterms – when you watch all the seats in a particular class slowly dwindle down until there’s only spot left and you know 10 other people who still want that class and they all register before you. So yeah, registration sucks and they really need to open up more sections for classes and have more seats available per class.

The worst part is making a perfect schedule before registration and by the time it’s your turn to register you now have this random schedule with three 8 am classes and you just want to die. I remember spring semester of my freshman year, I was extremely organized and made three potential schedules that I would be okay with and it ended up going fairly well for me. But the following semester, it was a free for all and ended up with this schedule with either a bunch of back to back classes or classes spread out with 5 hours in between them.

And sometimes even the advisors don’t know what they’re doing, especially freshman studies when it comes to taking classes towards your major. Honestly if it wasn’t mandatory to meet with them in order to get your PIN number, I would just figure it all out myself and never have to converse with some of them.

So may the odds be ever in your favor this registration season! And hopefully you’re the lucky one who steals the last spot.
