The initial excitement of the back to school season begins to fade as stress, we all may be too familiar with, starts its unwelcomed visit. With grades being posted, summer savings dwindling, too much stress could take a toll on students. Luckily, Seton Hall offers plenty of resources to keep you right on track, here are three ways to bust your stress.

The Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

Feeling overwhelmed? Tired of venting to your friends? Visit CAPS in Mooney Hall for its free year-round counseling. Its website states, “Our mission is to foster the psychological health and well-being of our students in order to enable them to thrive, develop, and achieve academic success.” All students are eligible for counseling and can participate in individual or group therapy sessions. The office is open Monday through Friday on the second floor of Mooney Hall. Students are encouraged to call the Department of Public Safety and Security during non-office hours where an on-call counselor is available.

The Academic Resource Center (ARC)

It’s easy to feel anxious and stressed as midterms creep around the corner. Thankfully, SHU offers help with ARC for academic support services. ARC’s website states, “The ARC promotes student learning and academic excellence by providing opportunities to increase and improve academic achievement and performance.” Students can attend skill-building workshops scheduled throughout the semester, or try out tutoring in more than 70 subjects with ARC. If you’re looking for some extra help visit ARC in Arts & Sciences Hall room 242.

SALT

As if the stresses of college and classes aren’t enough, it can also be difficult to manage your personal finances. SHU partnered with the resource SALT to help students’ financial literacy. Seton Hall’s website states, “SALT will help you borrow less, borrow smart, and eventually pay off your loans successfully. It is also the best resource for gaining the knowledge and skills to manage your personal finances.” Prepare for post-college and stay on top of your loans, and your savings. Students with questions about their loans can contact the Office of Financial Aid in Bayley Hall.
