Lately, the weather in San Diego has been quite random. One day it’s cloudy, cold, and raining, and the next, it’s sunny and warm! Though these conditions have been repeating themselves over the last couple months, this past thursday we had an unusual occurrence!
As I was driving to campus for my chem test review, I struggled to find parking (because you know how that situation is). One minute the ground is completely dry and there is no rain. The next minute, it starts raining hard. Then that rain turns into HAIL. And it wasn’t light hail, it was storming. While I was inside my car the noise was so loud, I thought my windows were going to break!
The hail stopped after a few minutes, but the second I got out of my car I noticed the pellets weren’t melting like they usually do here in California. They were staying FROZEN while on the ground and it looked like there was snow all around! It was on cars, covered the fields, and students were all around playing in it.
The topic of global warming and climate change is a very controversial one. I mean, our president doesn’t even believe climate change is real. There is so much evidence that it is a real thing. It has never ‘snowed’ in san diego before and it happening in places all over that it shouldn’t be. Places like Las Vegas and Hawaii are getting extreme cold weather that they have never experienced before. I think the facts are there support that climate change is occurring right before our eyes at a very rapid pace. What do you think?
