The rise of CBD oil has been seen everywhere: in lotions, gummies, oils and drinks. There are even facials and massages infused with it. CBD oil is a natural compound found in cannabis plants; however, it contains no THC, the ingredient in marijuana that gets you “high.”

Companies marketing CBD products are now being told by the FDA to stop making unfounded health claims for their products. Several articles and testimonials about CBD claim to treat anxiety, arthritis, sleeplessness and pain. Focusing on anxiety, CBD can be a popular treatment method, and a growing number of companies have been selling products infused with CBD and marketing them as natural remedies for anxiety.

Due to the lack of research, it cannot be concluded that CBD oil might actually help anxiety issues. Because there is not a lot of clinical data on CBD, it is highly advised to be aware of CBD products and the lack of research behind them.
