Student Discounts You Need to Know About

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SCU chapter.

It’s not cheap being a college student, but that doesn’t mean you have to live off of ramen in your dorm room and never explore the area for 4 years. You can save on electronics, clothes, food, entertainment, and so much more with just your ACCESS card. Tons of places offer student discounts; you just have to keep your eyes open! You should always be on the lookout for ways to save, so I’ve outlined here some of the best deals for students right now.

Apple Store

If you’re in the market for some new technology then you should definitely head over to the Apple store. Apple has great student discounts, allowing you to save up to 200 dollars on a new Mac computer. Some deals can also be applied for savings on iPhones and iPads. If you feel like waiting a few months to buy a new computer you might get even luckier. For the past few summers, Apple has offered a student deal allowing great savings on new computers AND a free pair of Beats headphones (worth up to 300 dollars).

Bed, Bath, and Beyond

If you moved into your dorm or new house and realized you forgot something (or a lot of somethings), you are not alone. Luckily, Bed, Bath, and Beyond probably has everything you need and there’s a good chance it’s a lot cheaper than the SCU bookstore. This is another one of those stores with great summer deals. They have student discounts offering 20% off your whole order and if you haven’t used it, now is your chance. But if you did use it don’t worry, Bed, Bath, and Beyond is constantly offering deals: just subscribe to their email list! You will receive great coupons and save a lot.

Zipcar

This one isn’t really a discount, but it’s worth noting. Zipcar is an app you can download that allows you to rent a car for a certain amount of time for not a lot of money. And we have two Zipcar lots right on campus! If you don’t have a car on campus and Uber isn’t really your thing, be sure to check out this app.

Buffalo Wild Wings

BWW has always been a fun place to go and watch a big game and spend time with friends. But what you might not know is that they offer student discounts! Showing your student ID gets you 10% off your order and when you want to try five different types of wings, that 10% can save you a lot!

Amazon Prime

If you haven’t discovered the amazingness of Amazon.com then I don’t know what you’re doing with your life. You can buy anything and everything for amazing prices from shoes to textbooks to food. And if you have discovered it, it’s time to try Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime offers many special deals including free two day shipping on nearly all orders. Need a cheap costume for that party in two days? Amazon Prime has got you covered. Students get a free 6-month trial!

Chipotle

We all need to venture away from Benson time to time. And Chipotle is often the best place to do just that. Show your student ID to the cashier and get a free drink with your meal!

Target

Everyone needs something from Target every once and a while. I mean they have pretty much everything you could ever want. No car? No problem. Target has an online student discount of 10% off your order at checkout!

AMF Moonlite Lanes

If you thought bowling was reserved for third grade birthday parties, you are wildly mistaken. In fact, I’ll even go to the lengths to say bowling is more fun as an adult. And this alley is not far from campus! AMF boasts tons of specials but here are some of the best. First we have $2 Tuesdays- after 8pm head over to the lanes for $2 games, shoes, pizza slices, and beers. Thursdays is college night- after 9pm experience unlimited bowling for only $11. Also enjoy sweet deals on food and drinks. And if homework has got you down on a Sunday, take a break and experience $3 games and more after 6pm.
