The Feminine Urge to Self-Love: A Playlist and a Plan

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Scranton chapter.

Have you ever come back from a day of classes or hard work and dissolved into your bed, too exhausted for your own exhaustion? Self-care is earned in our down time, but we’re usually too tired to indulge much. Lucky for you, I’ve done all the heavy lifting, you just gotta treat yourself ;)

Skin Care:
Baby… it’s cold outside. I beg you, cleanse and hydrate your skin. There’s nothing more satisfying than a successful skin care routine and seeing yourself in a face mask cues our mental state that it’s time for relaxation.
Lotion:
Spend a little bit of extra time moisturising your skin and massaging the stress away. There’s nothing that says self love more than taking time to listen to your body
Stretching:
Do you have a chronic muscle knot that flares up with stress? Or just a general feeling of physical unease? Ten minutes of light stretching opens up your body and tugs away at any stress knots, but this is not your yoga class. This should only feel good so don’t over strain. Incense or Humidifiers:
Ever since bad girl icon Rihanna said she loves incense, I’ve been on the scent bandwagon. A humidifier is the dorm-friendly version of this and I’m telling you, a little bit of Eucalyptus goes a long way after an even longer day.

Music:
Relaxation requires ambiance, so you’re going to need music. Here’s my primed self-care playlist for all your pampering needs.
