Stop What You’re Doing and DANCE

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Scranton chapter.

Whether you are feeling happy or sad, dancing is a great way to put a smile on your face. Dance is a form of expression through movement of the body, normally when music is playing. Movement releases endorphins into your blood stream, reducing levels of cortisol, a stress hormone.  There are many health benefits of dancing, such as improved heart and lung condition, increased muscle strength, better coordination, and weight management.

Dancing has many psychological benefits too. Dancing eases anxiety, lifts your moods, builds social bonds, and helps to reduce pain and stiffness. Who doesn’t love to dance around our room in our pajamas! Besides all the health benefits of dancing, it can increase your mood and it is something that everyone can have fun doing!

Whether you are dancing around your kitchen cooking food or having a late night dance session with your roommates, here are some great songs to help you get your groove on!
