So, syllabus week is over and it seems like the perfect time to start panicking. It’s okay if you’re not quite back in the groove yet. While sitting in your dorm room scrolling through inspirational DIY insta-posts or a Harper’s Bazaar article on detoxes, you might be feeling like you need a “pick-me-up”. Do not fear! Right in the walls of your room you can pamper yourself, with a few simple ingredients, to make this week a little less stressful and prevent yourself from developing the plague all of your floor mates have.

Pick Me Up Water

You Will Need:1. Water2. Lemons3. Cucumbers4. Mint Leaves5. Ginger6. Tea Bags

Use a knife to cut thin slices of lemon and cucumber. After, use the knife to shred some fresh ginger. Pop these ingredients into your glass of water with some mint leaves (add as much or as little as you want; bold or light), and your water will add some zest to your day! Keep a whole stock in your refrigerator!

Eye Treatments

Believe it or not, the phrase “cool as a cucumber” isn’t nonsense. One of the best ways to wake up is to cover those tired eyelids with slices of cucumber. You’ll feel just like you’re at a spa-in your own dorm room! So lie down for a few minutes before class and revive your eyes. It’s fun and simple!

If you have more tea bags than you know what to do with, save them for later! Store your chamomile or black tea bags in a plastic bag in your refrigerator. If your eyes are ever feeling puffy or tired, the cold tea bags will help heal those irritated or dark eyes, while also helping you relax.

“As Told By Ginger”

Ginger is an anti-inflammatory aid, and adding it to your tea will increase your chances of feeling good! It’s an amazing flu-fighter, and the perfect touch of warmth to relax your body, so stock up for these last couple weeks of winter!

We hope these helpful tips will bring calm and ease to your hectic days!
