My Finals Week Guide to a Good Week

Madeline Thornton Student Contributor, St. Bonaventure University
This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SBU chapter and does not reflect the views of Her Campus.

It is the last week of classes; I am doing finals work and work for the regular semester. Not even 2 days ago, I felt as though I had a lot of time, and now I feel as though I do not.

This semester has felt like the last two days, happening too fast, copious amounts of work starting to pile on.

Friends are leaving and not coming back, good things that bring brightness to your day, will be gone in a week, and you won’t see them every day.

So, to not want to cry every day, this is what I do!

  • Every morning, WITHOUT FAIL, I get a coffee, and we deserve all of it.

And if you want another coffee, get it. I like to make all my coffee at home, and save money that way, but with the exams I worry about, I get myself a coffee from Starbucks.

  • Calories don’t count if you want three brownies, then eat them if it will make you feel better.
  • Working out doesn’t have to happen. If you want a break or to clear your head, go work out, take a walk, but don’t force something that you don’t have time for or want to do.
  • Live in the library, this is a joke (not). I sleep, eat, and breathe in that place, especially if I have a booth. I do leave to shower, but I bring food back, sometimes I’ll take a nap there too.
  • Take your time alone and free time. Go back to your room, ignore everyone for an hour, and read a book, meditate, or wash your hair for a long time.
  • Drink water: no explanation, just fill up your water bottle and drink three a day.
  • Eat good food; to do your best, you need to eat nutritious foods to fuel your body for long days. Now, a nutritious meal is greens, a protein, and a carb.
  • Remember to breathe. You might not get an A, even if you studied for 15 hours every day for it, and that is okay; Cs also get degrees.
  • You will do amazing! Everything happens for a reason, and you will pass! I will be manifesting and praying for you all!

Finals time is a very stressful time for everyone! Remember, you have people there for you, your friends, your RAs, other classmates, or club members.

I am wishing everyone a wonderful finals season and great winter break before we come back and do it again, but worse, haha.
