The Best Super Bowl Sunday Dips

Super Bowl Sunday is coming up fast, which means a bunch of friends (and many sweaty guys) will be crowded around the TV, probably making bets on their favorite team.

Even if youโ€™re not a big football enthusiast, you should definitely be a fan of the food! The best part about a Super Bowl party is pigging out.

So, this Super Bowl, letโ€™s skip the greasy pizza, fries and chicken wings and enjoy some simple, homemade dip recipes that will fill your appetite as well as your guestsโ€™!

Baked Taco Dip:

Everybody loves dipโ€“and tacos!

Ingredients (Feeds 8-10 people):

ยทย  One package of cream cheese

ยทย  One bag of shredded taco-cheese

ยทย  One can of chili (turkey or beef)

Instructions:

ยทย  Let cream cheese sit out for about an hour.

ยทย  When the cream cheese is soft, spread it on the bottom of a deep stoneware dish. ย 

ยทย  On top of the cream cheese, spread the whole can of chili.

ยทย  Top with a layer of taco cheese.

ยทย  Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or until the layer of cheese is melted.

ยทย  When finished baking, let the dish sit for 10 minutes.

ยทย  Serve with tortilla chips.

Tips:

ยทย  For a vegetarian-friendly dish, substitute a bean chili for the meat chili.

ยทย  Top with olives, sour cream, guacamole, etc.

Cannoli Dip (via Littlethings.com):

Every Super Bowl party needs a dessert!

Ingredients (Serves 10 people):

ยทย  Two cups of ricotta cheese

ยทย  One cup of powdered sugar

ยทย  One teaspoon of vanilla extract

ยทย  One cup of heavy whipping cream

ยทย  One cup of mini chocolate chips ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย 

Instructions:

ยทย ย ย ย ย  Mix ricotta cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla extract together in a large mixing bowl.

ยทย ย ย ย ย  In a separate mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until it has a creamy consistency.

ยทย ย ย ย ย  Combine the two mixtures by gently, folding the whipped cream into the ricotta mixture.

ยทย ย ย ย ย  Add the mini chocolate chips.

ยทย ย ย ย ย  Chill for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

ยทย ย ย ย ย  Serve with cookies or ice cream cones.

Tips:

ยทย  Top with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, etc.

ยทย  Sprinkle cinnamon for spice!ย
